This heirloom variety dates back to at least the early 1600s. Despite it's name, the flowers are a deep purple and can be used for dying. Can flower in its first year in good conditions with stalks reaching 6 to 8 feet. Flowers running the whole length of the stalk, making this a pollinator favourite!
