Val's Broad Bean
A tall broad bean with long, elegantly curved pods and large buttery beans. One of the first crops we plant in the spring, the seeds germinate well in cold soil and produce abundantly in early July. Originally from Salt Spring Seeds and named “Andy’s Broad Bean”, our friend Valerie Perkins began growing and selecting it every year for decades. As such, Val’s Broad Bean is well adapted to growing in the Gulf Islands.
