Andy's Broad Bean (Heavenly Variant)

Vicia faba

A tall broad bean with long, elegantly curved pods and large buttery beans. One of the first crops we plant in the spring, the seeds germinate well in cold soil and produce abundantly in early July. Our friend Valerie Perkins began growing and selecting this bean every year for decades, thus it is well adapted to growing in the Gulf Islands.
