WoodGrain Farm (Hazelton 4b)

WoodGrain Farm is the northernmost member of the co-op and home to Short Season Seeds, located on Gitxsan territory in the Kispiox Valley. From biologist and baker to vegetable farmers, Jolene Swain and Jonathan Knight tend to a diverse farmstead where organic seed production is integrated alongside small-scale grains for milling, vegetable production, and livestock.  With a focus on varieties that thrive in the northern coast mountains, Short Season Seeds maintains a selection of regionally suited crops, and continues to explore and steward seeds to preserve genetic diversity and resilient traits for a changing climate.
