Calendula officinalis

Extremely hardy annual with pale-yellow through to bright orange blossoms on 2-foot high plants. Blooming most of the year until first snows. Petals can be added to salads, and used in skin lotions. Readily self-sows.

Growing instructions

Direct seed in early spring or start seedlings for a later transplant. 12" between plants, 36" between rows. For a new flush of fall blooms, either sow later until early summer, or try a heavy pruning on some of your plants in mid-summer to give new growth.
