Lactuca sativa

A dense green mini butterhead, with oak-ish shaped leaves. Great for cutting into salad mixes since the leaves stay quite small. Popular at market as a personal sized salad maker.  They can be planted at 4-6” spacing and they head up very quickly. Tasty, crunchy, pretty. So cute! 40-50 days to maturity.  

Growing Instructions: Start in trays, seeding 5mm deep. Transplant 30-45cm apart for heads, closer for looseleaf, or direct-seed more densely in rows for baby greens. Sow April through August. stagger plantings for a continuous supply of lettuce. 7-15 days to germination.
