Ammi visnaga
A beautiful addition to any garden. This long-lasting and drought resistant annual grows 3 to 4 foot tall with multiple gorgeous domed white blossomed umbels from 3 to 6 inches across. Attracts large numbers of pollinators and beneficial insects. In general direct seeding produces stronger sturdier plants than transplants, and will reseed itself without getting weedy. The edible leaves have a cress-like flavour and the seeds are used medicinally to help with a wide array of issues including angina, asthma and stomach cramps. Also known as Honeyplant or Toothpick Plant.
Growing Instructions
Sow into 128-cell flats or preferred seedling container 4-6 weeks before planting out. Also does well when directly sown into thinly seeded rows and lightly covered after the threat of frost has passed. Germination: 12-16 days. Scheduling 2-3 succession two weeks apart will ensure blooms all summer long. Spacing: 6-12”. Support recommended.
