Myrrhis ororata

Hardy herbaceous perennial native to Europe and Asia growing to 3 feet high, also known as Garden Myrrh or Sweet Chervil. The plant exudes Anise fragrance from its fern-like leaves, and produces abundant attractive small white flowers on compound umbels through May and June. Prefers rich garden soil and part to full shade. Leaf can be used raw in salads, or dried and used as a culinary herb or to make a great nutritive tea good for digestion and blood cleansing. The deeply grooved, resiny seeds need a cold period to germinate. Sow in fall or early spring with germination usually slow, taking up to 6 weeks!
