Roadside White

Echinacea purpurea 

This seed was collected along the roadside and gifted to the grower, and has remained strong, sturdy and true after being grown out for three years. With their plentiful blooms, these flowers bring in the pollinators and create a lovely contrast with its more common purple relative in the garden. Given their backstory, there's still a possibility of some purple coming through, creating the potential for some unique blooms!

Direct seed early March or early Fall, 5mm deep. If planted early enough, can bloom in its first year. Can also start indoors mid-Feb. to late March in darkness; move to bright light when sprouts appear. Plant 30-38cm apart. 10-21 days to germination.
