Our "Standard" shipping option is sent out via regular mail. It's lower cost, but takes longer (3 to 12 business days from ship date) and doesn't include tracking. Choose "Expedited" for parcel tracking, $100 in insurance, and faster delivery (2-10 business days from ship date).

An ancient barley thought to have been introduced to the British Isles by Vikings in the 8th or 9th century. Grown largely in northern Scotland, and the Scottish Islands (the Shetlands, the Orkneys, and the Outer Hebrides) this 6-row awned spring barley is adapted to short growing season with long daylight hours and low pH soils. Bere has a long history in the making of bread and notably fine beer and Scottish whisky. Very rare find!
