Brassica oleracea

Blue Star is a standout Chinese broccoli known for its moderately thick, tender stems and rich, broccoli-meets-collard flavor. Compact plants produce succulent shoots up to 1" thick topped with small green florets, and continue to send side shoots when regularly harvested. Well suited to temperate climates, it thrives with tighter spacing (4–6"). Best grown in early spring, Blue Star is sweet, tender, and delicious raw or cooked, and features distinctive white blossoms uncommon in other B. oleracea varieties. A quick, rewarding crop for diverse culinary uses.
