For beet lovers and people looking for something new and unique. Golden and chioggia beets were crossed a few years back and the result is stunning! This population is still segregation which means that you will find golden beets, chioggia beets and new and unique beets that are the result of the cross between the two parental lines. Not only the root colours have unique stripped golden rings but the leaves are also unique with orange ribs and leave greens closer to the chioggia beet leaves. This is a project in the making and the BCESC will be offering these beets in the coming years has the breeding project developed into a new variety!
