Purple Breeding Line

This is a second year selection of a cross between Shanghai and Purple Lady Bok Choy. Both varieties are part of the CANOVI (Canadian Organic Vegetable Improvement) heat tolerant bok choy trials taking place between 2025-27. During the pre screening stage, researchers noticed that none of the purple varieties achieved the same size as the green varieties, so we crossed these two and will continue to select for larger sized purple plants.

You can expect approximately half of the seeds to produce purple plants, and the rest green. All perfectly edible and a fun population to kick start your own personal bok choy breeding project!
