Beautiful flowers, useful fibre, delicious seeds, flax is a plant with many virtues!

Sussex is an heirloom variety known for its nutritious brown seeds, a great way to grow some of your own healthy oils, high in omega-3's. Plants also produce a valuable fibre useful in linen production or other homestead fibre projects. Sturdy stems, up to 3 ft, adorned with beautiful blue flowers.

Plant at 20-30 seeds per square foot for seed and flower production, and about 150-200 seeds per square foot for fibre production. Direct seed in early spring after frosts.
